Calvin Trieu, M.S.

Hi, I'm Calvin Trieu

I was 16 when I tore my ACL and meniscus (the first time) trying to long jump over a couch to impress my friends—classic teenage move. That injury introduced me to physical therapy, and what started as rehab turned into a full-blown obsession with movement and the science behind it leading to a lifelong mission: to share the gift of movement with others.

My journey with training began humbly—quietly performing bodyweight exercises in my bedroom and racing my friends on the track. At first, I was driven by wanting to look better, crush my friends in races, and, let’s be honest, get noticed by girls. While the reasons may have started off simple, over time, exercise became something so much bigger—a way to build confidence, test limits, and learn what I can do if I believed in myself.

Since then, I’ve explored what my body can do: from running track and field, competing in CrossFit and powerlifting meets, stepping onto the Olympic weightlifting platform in front of Arnold Schwarzenegger himself (and totally bombing the lift too, of course, lol), to now training for my first marathon. These challenges have not only expanded my physical abilities but also reframed how I see myself and what’s possible.

Movement didn’t just help me hit PRs—it gave me direction and purpose.

It led me to earning a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology, writing for fitness sites like BarBend, contributing to scientific research, and coaching countless individuals to improve their nutrition and fitness—whether it’s achieving peak performance or simply experiencing more of life without being held back by physical limitations.

Movement is a gift, and I’ve devoted my life to sharing it.
